AbcNews says "Three oil field workers have died in the third fatal vehicle crash in the past two weeks on a South Texas highway that is more heavily traveled because of oil and gas drilling.

Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Clint Walker said fatigue was the likely cause of the nearly head-on collision Monday morning on Texas 72 near Tilden, about 75 miles south of San Antonio.

Walker said a 27-year-old man driving a pickup truck veered into the oncoming lane and collided with another vehicle. Walker says the pickup driver and two men in the other vehicle, ages 58 and 61, were killed.

Walker tells the San Antonio Express-News that all three fatal wrecks involved oil and gas workers. A total of five people have died. "
